Ian Kraft Print

If you are looking for a pro-active, enthusiastic, fun loving windsurfer then Krafty pretty much fits the bill. He's made a name for himself through UKWA racing primarily, starting out in the Techno Cup events before he'd really worked out how to windsurf properly. Certainly he accredits the challenges of racing with bringing on his alround windsurfing skills.

Over time, Ian progressed from freeride racing to formula racing, and even scored himself a respectable  World Ranking in 2005 at the Formula Junior, Youth & Masters World Championships at Christchurch (in the Masters category).

Competing with the UK's best windsurfers one a surefire way of improving and having reached a respectable level in formula racing, Krafty switched focus to slalom racing and has enjoyed some success in this also. Admittedly, his results generally do not reflect his enthusiasm, and often he'll be racing using wave or freeride kit just for fun.

More focus has been given to wave sailing of late, and although he's a fair way off being competitive in the UK Wave scene, he's been scoring some decent sessions at venues like Camber Sands.

Additionally, Ian does have ambitions to go fast, and the GPS Speedsurfing format looks like it'll accomodate such desires nicely.

Ian does a lot of work within the sport, currently running the South East region's Team 15 Inter-Club competitions for the youngsters of the region. Additionally, Ian is one of the key personnel behind National WIndsurfing Week 2008. Ian was also one of the Executive Directors behind the UKWA for a number of years, though took a time-out as the family started to require a little more attention. In case you hadn't made the connection, Krafty is also the guy behind Surfkraft, and has taken great pleasure in seeing how his support of his team riders has helped them progress within the sport.

Krafty's commitment to the sport is noteworthy, to say the least. Be sure to check out his on-line gallery http://www.surfkraft.co.uk/cpg1414/thumbnails.php?album=2     for the latest updates

Ian is fortunate to be supported in sport by the following sponsors, and he is extremely proud to recommend them and their products / services to others.
