Hi All, Fun slalom this Sunday at Farmoor, the forecast looks very good. Hot food and hot showers available. We will arrive about 10am and we can start when a few people are ready. Please ensure that you:
1. Have 3rd party insurance (UKWA membership will sort this)
2. Unload your kit then pop your car / van in the car park
3. Give it some stick
See you on Sunday for a good hoot!

Looks like it was another good turnout at Farmoor ... check out the pictures ....
St Mary's Bay - WINDY & COLD !!!
Kit ready to go at St Marys
Krafty's appraisal -

St Mary's Bay, credit to Rich and the posse for calling it.

Got there and Chris, Tim & Mike were already there ..... Rob, Allesandro & Rich rocked up pretty soon after.

We could see 4 people out at Pirates from St Marys and they seemed to be powered up enough. Wind didn't seem as nuclear as the view, so opted for 5.3m Manic & 3S97 and this was spot on while the wind gradually increased to the point that 4.7m would have been the better choice ..... but I wasn't about to do any of that de & re-rigging stuff in the chilly temps. Decided to sail until I couldn't any more. Took a few breathers on the inside before charging back out to hit the ramps ...... and there were a few tasty ones to be smacked.

As the wind filled in, swinging a bit more onshore, my 'out the back' windline came in closer to shore and even though I promised Rob that I'd go for a table top I failed miserably to even give it a donkey kick .... in my defence, stacked on a 5.3m, and gone pretty high, the only sensible option was a tail first parachute landing .... it must've been the cold, sensible is so not me.

First time I've sailed there, and given the nod from the posse that conditions look good again, it's on the list for a re-visit.

Good to see all the crew again, and if it'd been 4-5 degrees warmer it'd have been awesome .......

Rich tell's it his way -

St Mary's Bay was flippin good today, everything went to plan, cold, sunny, windy & waves. Didn't get cold at all today on the water, just got cold hands when rigging up, i put it down to the palmless mitts and gimp hood. If i knew the person that made them i would probably give them a big hug and maybe a little kiss (If female of course..!!) for making the day so enjoyable in the low temp. Stayed out for nearly 3 hours before i was just blown off the water in the end. Arms were done so that was enough for me this time of year. Waves were good today, picking them up out the back around chest height. Looked great when riding in and looking up wind to see the rest of the lads out at Pirates having it off, plenty of looping going on aswell i saw. Great day, all smiles on the beach after, apart from one big girls blouse...

Thorpey took the Wave-Jammers in search of winter woolies

Yep, we're on for Woolacombe again tomorrow!
Should be mental...

EDIT: Nope, I must be mental!

Sods law the weather denied us again. Thanks to everyone for showing up.

We had Russ with his super duper DSLR and Brendan the film man and a bunch of keen sailors, but conditions were almost unsailable. The wind turned out very offshore -very gusty with loads of East in it and the waves were closely spaced mast high randomness...

Bugger. (no pics then .....)
